Why does this happen to me?

Wednesday was just like any other day. Well except for the fact that it was Halloween, but not a bad day.

I start my drive home to find that the usual free flowing traffic is stopped. Argh. OK well I didn't have very far to go until I would be at my short cut that Brandy told me about. Wrong. I had been sitting in traffic for 20 minutes when I received her call, and was only passing under 610. When traffic is moving this is a 5 minute drive from where I work. So she informs me that I can get to the short cut from most anywhere so I immediately exit.

Smart to start off with. When I get to the last leg of the short cut I discover that the Children's Museum is letting out from their Halloween celebration and traffic is stopped. I've had about 10 glasses of water that day and they all decide to hit my bladder at that exact moment. I cuss, and scream and eventually make my way to 288 where I screech my tires into the nearest restroom. This just happens to be a Denny's. I barely make it in there. Whoo! So crisis over.

I get out on the road again and the traffic is moving! Whoo! I'll make it home in time to dress my Bug up and take him trick or treating. So I'm flying down the highway. 80! Whoo Hoo! I am coming up between 2 cars to pass them up, and the person on my right decides she's going to get over in my lane. I lay on the horn. Nothing. Keep laying on the horn. Still nothing. Argh. So I swerve to the left a little. That car isn't seeing me so I have to go back to the right. Surely she's seen what she's doing by now.

WRONG.

I hit her! Yep. You heard me. I hit her. Little brat in her nice new black 4 door sedan got her side view mirror ripped off my my Rodeo! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's what you get. So I figure I'm in for some drama. So I follow along behind her for a while. She's not stopping. OK. Um? What's going on? She gets over in the exit lane. OK. She's going to stop. Nope. She's getting on another freeway to wherever her destination is. Oh well. I book it home. MAD AS HELL. But I made it in one piece for some trick or treating! My Bug was the cutest Alligator ever and it made the whole day worth it!

Hope everyone else's Wednesday was better then mine!

Beatless Wings

I have a friend that's in a band. I know. There are millions of people out there who are "in a band". But these guys are really good.

I had the pleasure of attending a show at an intimate cafe this past weekend and I was wowed at the musical ability. They play rock & roll and some blues, mixing it up between covers and original stuff. If you're in the Houston area check em out! I'll post on here when they're having shows. And I'm including a link to their space as well as their web site. I know I'll be there showing my support.

Leave of Absence Continued

I put in my last post that there might be some things that were just a little too much. Well here are those things. Stop reading now if you do not care to read.

So I went to my PCP for the first time to see about getting my thyroid checked. He did that and everything was fine. Well one of the things that they always ask women, is when was your last menstrual cycle. I haven't had one since January of 02. He was very concerned about this. I haven't been worried because I have the birth control method, the Mirena IUD. One of the side effects, however not very common, with the particular IUD is that some women stop having a period completely. Well he confirmed this and everything is fine there. Even the super light spotting and cramping that I had for a little bit there is normal. Apparently you can do this when these things are about to come out. Which is in December.

So that's it on the update of the last couple of months. Nothing more to report as of now. As soon as I get the pics from this last weekend uploaded I'll be filling you all in on that.

Leave of Absence Over!

My unplanned leave of absence from blogging is officially over. A lot has been going on in the past couple of months and I'll do my best to fill you in on everything. Please bare with me as I jump from topic to topic, and some may be more then you care to know. I will warn you to jump to the next subject if that's the case.

So I last blogged about the possible changes to the Texas State Pledge. That still bothers me but we're not going to talk about that. No soapbox today.

School!
Shortly before I last blogged I started my Associates degree in Accounting through the University of Phoenix. I am happy to say that I have completed my first round of courses and am well on my way to completing my first semester. Things are going very well on that front, and I look forward to completing my degree.

Grayson's School!
Grayson started Pre K shortly after I started, and he's loving it. He hasn't missed one day. He had a few problems with behavior, i.e. time out, but with some positive reinforcement from his teacher, and a visit to his doctor, things are going much better. He's been diagnosed mildly ADHD and is on a super low dose of meds. Aside from the talking non stop they're really helping. He's minding a lot better, following directions a lot better, and I don't have to call his name 10 times just to get his attention. I think that the talking will die down as he gets regulated. We shall see. I just want him to get the most out of school, and with his focus problems without the meds, I'm worried he'll miss out on the basics. I'm working with him on some stuff so that he doesn't always have to be on meds but in the mean time I'm hoping this will help to teach him a little self control.

Doctor's Stuff

Ummmm.....I've been taking better care of myself, and I've been diagnosed ADHD as well. LOL I went one day after work and got my meds. I started them the next day. My work production increased 100%. I was able to multi task like never before. Part of that job, it was a temp 8 week position, was to back up the call center. Later on at lunch with some coworkers they were telling me that they couldn't keep up with me. LOL So glad that I finally took the steps.

My Weight Loss!

I'm continuing on my weight loss journey. I'm currently down a total of 3 sizes and almost 35 pounds. I'm really excited. It's even to the point that if I don't wear heels with my dress pants I walk on them. Heck I almost walk on them when I'm wearing 2-3 inch heels. Whoo! I'm loving this transformation.

Baseball!

Grayson started baseball a couple of weeks ago. He's had three practices and 1 game. He is so funny. I never took the time to teach him anything about baseball because I didn't think he was interested. Not to mention his Daddy has played soccer his entire life, so I figured he would be playing soccer. He doesn't like soccer. So the handout came home from school and I decided to sign him up.

At his first game he had taken his glove out of his bag and left it at home. Uncle Dean was on the way with it but not in time for the game to start so they put him at catcher. Seeing as it's t ball a glove isn't a necessity. Well he did have to wear a helmet. So seeing as how he was wearing a batting helmet, that meant he was supposed to bat. So while the other teams player is running the bases he walks himself over to the other teams dugout and picks up a bat. LOL Yeah that was just the beginning.

His glove gets there and then it's just a matter of getting him to stay behind the plate. LOL

They head back into the dugout and he was 5th up to bat. He gets out there and the coach tried to get him to bat right handed. We inform him that he's a lefty and he hit the ball the very first time! Whoo Hoo! But then doesn't know where to go. We're all screaming at him to run so he just starts running. He went for the pitchers mound, then for the dugout, then for me, then finally to fist base. Of course once he got to first base, he was out, but still! He hit the ball! That was all due to Mommy's teachings! The coaches didn't teach him anything about left handed batting! Whoo!

So he's back out to play and they put him left field. He decides he doesn't like being here. LOL So he goes to 3rd base. Well the 3rd baseman doesn't like this. hes trying to shove him off and he just will not go. The coach finally got him off the base and into the outfield. So we had to left field players. So the next batter is up and he hits the ball. While the Bad News Bears are busily running around over throwing and not catching, Grayson decides to run the bases. He started at 3rd, and ran to home plate, then 1st and 3rd before they caught him and got him back in left field. Well that was all that happened for the remainder of that.

When it was his turn to bat again, he hit it again! First time. He got to 1st base no problem! The next batter hit the ball and Grayson headed for 2nd! Whoo! Stayed right there until he was told to run again. So he got to 3rd and apparently the 3rd base coach was not happy with the way he was standing on the base. So he was all bent over Grayson trying to get his feet right when they're next player hit the ball. They didn't know about it until the runner from second it at third trying to get Grayson to go! URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Well he finally takes off and scores his first run about 10 steps ahead of the player that had been trying to get him to run. Whoo!

The rest of the game was pretty uneventful! They didn't bat again because when the ump called the game they had the last bat and were already winning. Whoo! His next game is next Tuesday. He's learned a lot more since his first game so I'm hoping this one will be even better.

I think that's all for now. And I've gone on long enough. I'll keep this up to date better so you don't have to stare at the screen for so long!

Is this really a Controversy?

OK. So I heard on the news today that the state of Texas has changed the Texas pledge. Well not so much changed it as added some words to it. They've added "One state under God." Is this a big deal to you?

To me, someone who beleives that this nation was founded on Christian beleifes so shouldn't they filter into our everyday lives in some way, shape or form? This is The United States of America. Yes. We say freedom of religion. No we are not telling you that you have to be a Chrisian or worship a God that you don't believe in. We are simply stating what at this point in time 76.5% of our nation is that of a Christian Faith. Therefore it's going to be prodominant.

If Christian American's go to other countries we are expected to speak their language and while there are Christian places of worship in those countries we are not accomodated to the point that all traces of their Nationally recognized religion is wiped from every place where it could possibly offend.

I understand. Not 100% of the people that have a problem with God in our schools and government are from other countries, and most of the time the people that I see protesting are American by birth. But why if you have the right to not have God in your school and government do the other 76.5% of us not have the right to have him there?

No. I am not belittling your beliefes or expecting you to alter them in any way shape or form. I'm simply stating that we've been nice for too long. We're let the protestors go too far in my opinion. If we remove God from everything in our lives is he going to be there when we need him the most?

This is not me asking every person on My Space to comment and tell me how stupid I am or go into a tirade about politics. I hate talking about Religion and Politics. But this ticked me off and I needed to have my say!

Wordless Wednesday!

Pleases link to my Mommy! I really want to live in a real house and not in a turtle. If you link to her she'll link to you!

Halloween!

No. I'm not already preparing for the rapidly approaching holiday. I'm talking about the movie. Yes the one that we thought was officially done. Check out the trailer below and we'll continue below.

Ok. So in George Lucas fashion we're going back to the begining. I personally kind of like the idea of a prequel. It's worked with Star Wars and the Hannibal series. WHy can't it work with this?

I am excited to see this one. It looks like one I'm really going to enjoy not to mention making me want to see all the other Halloween movies again.

Rob Zombie wrote and directed this particular rendition and in typical Rob Zombie fashion it's appropriately dark. This movie is going to really give those with weak consitutions out there a run for their money.

This Halloween Movie, is going to be even better then the rest because it goes back to the beginning. It really lets you see what's behind all the other movies and just might bring a little perspective.

I don't actually have a favorite scary movie but I'm hoping to fill that role. Maybe this will be the movie to do just that.

Halloween opens in theatres August 31st! Are you ready?

Update Time!

I started a new position on Monday! It's a temp job that will last for at least 8 weeks but there's already talk of the possibility of perm. I'm excited. I really like this company and it's laid back style. There's a gym on the premisis so I can workout as often as I want. I'm happy to report that despite offering free fountain cokes I haven't not partaken. I'm sticking to my regimine of water with fiber and eating healthy foods. I have my nouriche yogurt shake for breakfast, and a Lean Cuisine for lunch! Whoo! And strangely enough I rarely need a snack! I haven't had one yet! Whoo! I started school on Monday as well. That's a little hard to work into the schedule but I'm figuring it out! I can't wait for the work to pay off.

Hope that everyone is well. I hope to talk to everyone soon.

Money Money Money!

I am loving the virtual world. Not only am I connecting with friends I haven't seen in years but now I am earning money!

Bloggerwave is the latest blogging community where you can be paid to doing what you're already doing. Blogging. Just join, and once your blog is approved you can take advantage of opportunities and earn some money on the side, or depending on your page rank you can get into some big money.

Head on over. It could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Help Help Help!

I love my Bug dearly. I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. But I am ready to yank his ears off of his little head. He WILL NOT listen to one thing that I say. he looks me right in the face while I am talking to him and when I ask him, "Did you hear what I said?" he looks at me and says yes. So then I ask, "What did I say?" to which his reply is, "I don't know."

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

He's not going to sleep right now for instance. He's been popped, had bee bear taken away, told he can't play outside tomorrow. Does this phase him? NO! I've tried time out. he sits over there and talks and plays and watches tv. He whines while he's there so I know he doesn't like it but what's the point if he's having a perfectly good time playing with the wall?

Any suggestions?

Are you Superbad?

Superbad is planning to take over You Tube on Wednesday, August 1st. Are you ready? And what is Superbad you ask? It's the latest movie from the guy that brought you Talladega Nights and The 40 year old virgin. It'll be in theatres August 17th. Can you handle it?

Head on over to You Tube and check out five exclusive Superbad videos to find out.

I can't wait to see this movie. It's a movie about two codependent high school seniors dealing with the upcoming seperation being forced upon them when one doesn't get into the college of choice. So what do that do? They plan a alcohol soaked party which you know isn't going to work out. So comedy ensues. Jonah Hill and Michael Cera star as Seth and Evan. Two relatively forgettable high school seniors but will thier party undo that and make them unforgettable? Head on over for the take over and get ready to prove yourself. Let's see if you have what it takes.

That's Superbad in theatres August the 17th. Be sure and check out You Tube and Superbad.com to see just what all the fuss is about. You won't be disappointed.

I love you all the Muches!

I love the things that come out of my Bugs mouth! I sometimes start conversations just to see what he's going to say.

I was hugging him today and asked him how much he loved me. He held his fingers about a cm apart and said proudly, "This Much!"

I poke out my bottom lip and tell him that that's not very much. He moves them apart. Again. I pout! He then makes his little pointer finger and thumb into and L.

I tell him, "That's Little bitty! I love you this much." I spread my arms and show him how much.

He looks at me with the same L and says, "It's not little bitty. It's big bitty!" He then starts going through all the different distances he can hold his little fingers apart and looks at me and says, "I Love You All The Muches!"

LOL Isn't that sweet?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Will it ever end? Will my need to have the best for, and fight for the best for Grayson ever end? I constantly look out for him and try to make sure that he's getting a fair shake. But certain other people in his life don't. They never call, they never come to see him. Just to see him. Ok. Granted. They don't have a car right now. But in the years that they did he came only when I begged him to. And it's ok for him to be in a crappy situation, but for me to be in that very same situation, with a child no less, I'm nothing but a welfare piece of trash. Why is it that people feel the need to hurt people like that in order for them to feel good about themselves. Does the feeling last or is it a temporary high? Does it even make one feel good about themselves to say such incredibly hurtful things? Does it make sense on my end to keep trying to give my son the father that he needs? And by that I mean the make the father he has be the father that he needs or should I just leave him be? At this point he knows his father. He asks for him and to see him. And then I get told to tell him that he's going to call. So i tell him. You're Daddy is going to call you later. Then the questions begin. When is my Daddy going to call? I want to talk to my Daddy. So should I even tell him? Or just wait and see if it actually happens.

My quandry is this. I don't want my son to grow up not having a father and later on having these faint memories of someone that he adored and now resents. The questions are going to come and they are going to be hard. And they're most likely going to come in my general direction instead of them being directed where they rightfully belong. Why do people, mostly men and sometime women, not feel such an incredible connection and affection for their child that they will sacrifice anything for that child? Why is it so easy for some to just ignore what they've brought into this world? These are questions that have plagued me for 5 years now.

Any thoughts?

Nutrisystem Nourish

Nutrisystem Nourish is something that I've seen on TV and I'm definitely considering.
Nutrisystem makes making your food choices easy. No wondering if you're eating too many calories or taking in too much fat. Just follow the simple program and eat the foods that you like. In short the reason I like this soooo much is it's not a diet. It's a life style change and can help you achieve the weight loss goals that you've been striving for.

Sloppy Joes!

I know. It's completely random and utterly senseless but I LOVE SLOPPY JOE'S! We had them for dinner tonight and I am in heaven. It's so not just a kid food! LOL

Complete Dental Practice

Is your smile less then you would like for it to be? If not consider looking into Complete Dental Health, a San Diego dentist. Just a few of their offerings include, Zoom Whitening, Invisalign, Porcelain Veneers and Recontouring. I love that my Bug is always so happy to me! I could have run to the store just 5 minutes before. But he always runs to see me like it's been a week. I guess I"m doing something right huh?

Anyone out there....

ever feel like you are completely alone? I do. I've been fighting and fighting for some semblance of normalcy in my life but certain people are making it impossible. They seem to actually try to make my life harder by their indifference to what should be a priority in their life. The song Boiler by Limp Bizkit comes to mind.

LYRICS

Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water
Boiler

Looks like I'm 'a do everything myself
Maybe I could use some help
But hell, you want something done right
You gotta do it yourself
Maybe life is up and down
But, my life's been what to now?
I crawled up your butt from hell
And that's when things got turned around

It used to be a lie
And now it feels pathetic
And now I get it
What's done is done
You just leave it alone
And don't regret it
Sometimes some things turn into dumb things
And that's when you put your foot down

Why did I have to go and meet somebody like you? (like you)
Why do you have to go and hurt somebody like me? (like me)
How could you do somebody like that
You know that I'm never coming back

Looks like I'm 'a do everything myself
Maybe I could use some help
But hell, if you want something done right
You just do it yourself
Got it?

Maybe life is up and down
But, but my life's been what to now?
Got it?
I crawled up your butt somehow
Got it?
And that's when shit got turned around

It used to be a lie
So pathetic
But now I get it
What's done is done
I know, you just leave it alone
And don't regret it
But sometimes some things turn into dumb things
And that's when you put your foot

Why did I have to go and meet somebody like you? (like you)
Why do you have to go and hurt somebody like me? (like me)
How could you do somebody like that
You know that I'm never coming back

Depending on you is done (is done)
Giving to you is done
No more eating, no sleeping, no living
It's all just what giving to you and I'm done (and I'm done)

But hiding from you is done (is done)
But lying from you is done
No more eating, no sleeping, no living
It's all just what giving to you and I'm done (and I'm done)

Why did I have to go and meet somebody like you? (like you)
Why do you have to go and hurt somebody like me? (like me)
How could you do somebody like that
You know that I'm never coming back

Because in terms of my son it does feel like I've done everything myself and if I want it to be done right I might as well do it myself.

So I am done. I don't need the heartache and the stress any longer. I will find a niche that works for my son and myself and that's it. If he wants to be around to witness his sons life he will be. If not.....then I have no regrets. I've done everything in my power. And I can always honestly look my son in the eyes and tell him that I tried.

Final Bug Update!

Well.....It's Friday. Grayson was throwing up on Wednesday and running a pretty high fever all day. I kept him on mild foods all day and the next day he still had a fever. I went ahead and kept him on mild foods all day yesterday, including no milk, and his fever was down to low grade. So last night he finally got to have some regular food and so far nothing has sprung forth! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything is back to normal. He's back to his cantankerous self so I'm taking that as a good sign.

I would like to say Happy Birthday to my friend Jessica. She's down here from Seattle because her family is making the sacrifice of her hubby being sent over seas to the Phillipines and I don't get to see her near enough. This summer just hasn't worked out and due to the Bug's sickness I am missing out on her totally rad 80's party! I love you Jess! Happy Birthday and I swear. I'll see you soon.

I'll call you Shitty!

Parental Advisory: Explicit Language!

This is along the same lines as the last blog.

Water, as he is now called, was running around naming things. His beloved Bee Bear is named Shadow. The vacuum cleaner, Mirror. A hanger was named hand. I don't recall everything that he named but those are just some examples. I think that I stopped listening at this point. My sister and I were talking and I here from across the room, "And I'll call you Shitty!" LOL I am flabbergasted. He's not supposed to be talking like this. I look over to see what it is that Water is referring to and there sits Sassy the cat. She's very quietly licking her paws having just been named Shitty when she really should have been quite offended! Apparently she's ok with this new name and we now have Water and Shitty! LOL

Yes he was appropriately reprimanded for saying this obscenity. Just thought that it was funny.

We all want to change our names at some point right?

Today was a normal day. We were all just hanging out and being silly. My sister then suggests that we go by our middle names. So all the kids start in with what they're going to be called for the day. There's Wesley, Kyle, Elaine, Shelby, Caroline, McKenna, Leslie and Christopher. Grayson being the last name listed then speaks up, "I want to be called Water."

So there it is. My son has picked his new name and he's to be called Water from how on. LOL What do you think? When you were a kid what was it that you wanted to change your name to? I was Shelby! LOL Leave me a comment and let me know.

We all want to change our names at some point right?

Bug Update!

For those of you that were able to understand my previous blog this is an update.

Grayson stopped throwing up at about 6:15 this morning. I then set him to drinking Crystal Light to see how he held that down. Well almost 11 hours later nothing had come back up and he was hungry. So onto the B.R.A.T. diet he went.

He started with a banana, some saltines and a Sprite 0. That all stayed down. We then moved onto apple sauce on toast. That stayed down too. It's now 10:01 at night and nothing has sprung forth from my Bug's mouth since the previously mentioned 6:15 am.

Just really glad he's feeling better. Who wants to take bets on when I'll get it! LOL

Argh!

Alright. I've put this out there before but there are people that still don't get it. If you're child is throwing up and has a fever they are sick. It is not something that they ate. They are contagious and they are sick. Do not keep feeding them things such as meatloaf. Do not sent them into 100 degree Texas weather to play outside. Pretty much keep them away from all other children until you know that they are ok. Oh. And make sure they are washing and sanitizing their hands and that you're lysoling the house!

My son is now sick and throwing up because of people that don't take these precautions. People that then go on to tell me that they only threw up once and it was probably something that their grandmother fed them only to be told later that that child had been running a fever at the same time! Argh!

So this is my warning to you. If your child has a virus IE throwing up every 15 minutes or throwing up with a fever! They are sick. If you fail to do the necessary things like only letting them have water/pedialyte and foods from the B.R.A.T. diet until it's been at least 6-12 hours since they've thrown up then keep your child away from mine. Give their stomach time to heel and do not make them eat normal often greasy foods. It's not the end of the world if they do not get the 5 food groups in for that day! My reason for telling you all this is this. If you fail to do these things or inform people of the necessary thing then you will be taking care of yet another child while they are sick. And cleaning up their sick messes!

There! Done!

"Mommy? Can I have a drink?"

This is what I hear at least every 30 minutes to an hour of every day. My little Bug is constantly thirsty.

Do I deprive my son of liquids? No. Do I let him live on carbonated drinks or sugar filled juices? No. In fact all that my son drinks is the milk from his cereal, 1 8 oz cup of 2% milk and then crystal light for the rest of the day. For you non weight conscious people out there, with th exception of a very small amount of sodium, it's basically flavored water.

He gets at least 8 oz each time and he drinks it. He doesn't take a sip then pour the rest down the sink or let it sit there and get warm then pour it out. He sucks it down and in many cases asks for more.

So I being the overly obsessive, sometimes hypochondriac, mother that I can be start searching the net. I plug excessive thirst and urination into the search engine and the first thing that comes up is Diabetes. OMG Not something that I or any other parent wants their child to have. It's a major life style change and having the Dad he has a major punishment. He's one that could live on chocolate. He loves it. I know. Diabetics don't have to give up all of the foods they love. They have to find healthy alternatives. But why should a sweet 4 year old child have to be put through that. Hi favorite things are treats for him. Not an every day part of his diet but he's still going to miss those favorite things.

I know. I could be getting ahead of myself but that's what I do. I worry and over analyze only to have the situation turn out to be much different then the nightmare that I've created.

So the reason for this blog is this. I'm putting it out there to you guys. Have you heard of anything other the diabetes and dehydration that could be making my Bug have these symptoms. Based on his weight he should be getting a minimum of 23 oz of water a day and he gets more then that. At least twice that and more when he plays outside.

So any ideas please let me know. I'll include a pic of his angelic face!

2+2=?

A very simple equation? Yes. But we all know that math can get very complicated and it's one of the main subject that kids ask for help with. I know for me it was the only subject that I struggled with and a math tutors would have been very beneficial for myself.

Math was not a problem for me until high school. And once there tutoring with my teachers helped but if I had been able to have the help offered at Score I believe I would have done that much better. Take advantage of their Advantage Program and Personal Academic Tutoring and make your child a math genius!

Update of Tiredness!

Not even sure right now if that's a word....but I got a fairly decent amount of sleep last night. I made myself lay down at 11, and short of a midnight bathroom run I slept straight through the night. So far I'm not tired and my eyes aren't droopy! Whoo Hoo. Keep it comin Sandman!

Innovative Tutor

Innovative tutor is popping up a lot in my blogs lately but seeing as how I believe in being proactive in my Bugs education I guess that's OK.

I want my Bug to be as prepared for the obstacles he may face in school and an innovative tutor is the best way I know. There are services offered for kids between the ages of 4 and 14 getting him ready for high school. They'll help him with everything from reading in his younger years to teaching him good studying habits so high school is that much easier. Like they say at Score. "When they love to learn, they'll learn!"

So head on over now and get a free academic consultation.

Tired!

I am so tired. For the last couple of weeks I have just been exhausted. No matter how much sleep I get I spend the day yawning and eagerly awaiting when I can put my head on that pillow. But then I can't sleep. It's like I long for sleep all day only to completely awaken the very minute that I lay myself down to slumber. Why is sleep alluding me? Does the sandman not love me anymore? Why doesn't he come to see me? Did I ignore his visits too many times when I was younger? I promise. Come visit me? I will sleep. I will go to sleep when you tell me to at th appointed time. Just please let me sleep.

Portable Scanner

I don't know about anyone else but I've really gotten on the wireless bandwagon. With my recent acquisition of a laptop I am hooked. So naturally I want all the nifty gadgets that go along with it. Web cam, portable printer, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard and 10 key pad. So naturally a portable scanner is the very next thing on my list.

A portable scanner seems to me like the next logical step. I know that I have a ton of pics that need to be scanned and uploaded but an even better use, and the target demographic I might add, is for th mobile professional.

No longer will you need to go out of your way in order to scan documents when on the road. With the ScanShell 2000N portable scanner tracking down the equipment you need is a thing of the past. The lightweight scanner is powered using only the USB 2.0 port. The ScanShell 2000N can be conveniently carried along with a laptop and requires only a small icon on your desktop. The software included is super easy to use with it's unique launch button that starts your imaging application instantly.

The Scanshell 2000N is the latest in convenience so check it out.

Reading Tutors!

Reading tutors are ready and waiting to help your child at Score Educational Centers. They can help your kids between K-10 ages and get them on the way to confidence.

I never needed one. Reading just happens to be my strength. My sisters as well. But my brother could have really benefited from a reading tutor at Score Educational Centers. He gave up an entire summer to tutor with the previous years teacher to improve his reading skills, only to wind up not much further a long then he already was. Maybe if he'd continued his sessions with a tutor at Score he'd know the joy that the rest of his family enjoys.

So head on over and get your child the help they need today. I'm thinking of enrolling my 4 year old just to really cement those skills he'll be learning very soon.

My 10 year Reunion!

So I missed it. I wanted to go so bad. I was excited in spite of the fact that I'm unmarried, a single Mom and not really where I though I would be right now. But I was just excited to see all my friends. Ya know. Well I didn't really have the money so I didn't buy a ticket in time at the lower price. Well I could have gotten one at the door at a higher price but oh well. Well I was sick. I mean sick all day the day of and so didn't need to go. It wouldn't have pretty if I had. But now I'm looking at pics from friends that did go and I'm so jealous! Oh well. I can go to the 20 year reunion and wow them right? LOL Ok. Done whining.

Before!

After!

Have you been through this?

It's a seemingly normal day. You're home from work cooking dinner and your son is doing his homework somewhere. He come in griping that he just doesn't get the math his teacher has assigned him. He might even say that the teacher doesn't even really teach.

So you sit down in all your wisdom only to stare at some algebraic equation that you have no clue how to solve. So you start working through it. There figured it out. You start trying to help him and he get upset. You're just not teaching it right either. He's frustrated because he's really trying but it's just not clicking in his head.

This is where a Math Tutor from Score Educational Centers could really ease that pain. Their Advantage Program takes a customized, hands-on approach to problem solving, designed to make learning fun while allowing your child to move at his own pace. They'll work with your child to build on the 16 fundamental math skills and combine math knowledge and concepts with reasoning and critical thinking skills.

So keep the natural color of your hair and get them the help they need with their math at the same time.

Ahhhhhhhhhh! Vacation Bible School!

I love whoever thought this up. Not only is Grayson learning about Jesus and getting to spend much needed time with other kids but I get an entire free morning to get things done that I normally can't do without him following me around.

And he loves it. His first day I picked him up and he wanted to stay. Then he came home and took a nap. When he woke up he informed me that it was time to go to Bible School. I let him know that after he went to sleep it would be time to go again. Then after dinner he again informed me that it was time for Bible School. Once again. After you go to sleep. So what does he say after his bath? It's time to go to Bible School!

Well he finally got to go this morning and he's loving it. He's even going to go to another one the week after next! I'm ecstatic!

Fabulously Fun Fridays!

My little Southpaw!

will be starting pre k soon and me being like every other overly obsessive mother out there I want him to be ahead of the game. He's a fast learner but I want him to have a leg up so to speak.

So I'm considering an Innovative Tutor. They have programs for kids ranging from Pre K on up to high school.

My main concern is he's left handed and there's no one around that's left handed. I've tried but I think that a personable tutor would be just the answer to helping him get it down.

Check out the Score website if your child is having trouble in school or if you are just looking for a good Summer program for them. They offer personal academic coaching, positive reinforcement and a customized curriculum for your child.

It could be the answer to your academic child's academic prayers.

Thankful Thursdays!

1. I am thankful for Crystal Light. Without it I would never get my water in.

2. I am thankful for bathtubs. My son would stay in there for hours if I'd let him. Ahhhhhh quiet time.

3. I am thankful for my persistence. My child support has finally started coming in again.

4. I am thankful for my Bug. Regardless of how much I scream I don't know what I'd do without him!

5. I am thankful for dirt. For the past 2 days my Bug has been busily playing in a giant hole and my days have been that much quieter.

6. I am thankful for my family. They're tolerant and loving no matter what I do and I couldn't ask for more in that department.

7. I am thankful for my friends. Eh. They put up with me. That's enough.

8. I am thankful, on occasion, for alcohol. Sometimes it just relaxes me.

9. I am thankful for down comforters. There's nothing better to snuggle down into then a down comforter.

10. I am thankful for Alton Brown! I love him so much and he loves me way more then my sister Rene!

Burn Notice

USA Network's Burn Notice is the newest cable network series. And they're getting into the Spy business.

BURN NOTICE (bûrn nō'tĭs) n.

1. An official statement by one intelligence agency to other agencies, domestic or foreign, that an individual or group is unreliable.

And that's just what's happened on the newest series. The main character, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), while on assignment has received a burn notice. And now he's got to find out why. He's got to fly totally beneath the spy network radar to clear his name. So that got me thinking. What would I do? What would I be doing to ensure that no one knew who I was while going about my investigation?

I would be a master of disguise. I would refer to the skills of the other spy's that I've observed and be able to change my appearance with the simplest of materials. I imagine myself being discovered and stopping ducking into the nearest drug store to see what I can get. Wrapping paper would make a great wrap around skirt. We know they sell different kinds of panty hose and tights so that would be easy. Find some funky hair pieces and putting them here and there. Some nice big sunglasses and a big bag and I'm done. Blend in with some group while getting out while they're searching for the person that I used to be.

OH I want to be a spy now. I would of course have all the best gadgets that you can get on the black market at my disposal! Whoo! I can't wait! I so know what I want to be when I grow up.

So check it out and live out your Spy fantasies through USA Networks Burn Notice.

I've said it before.......

and I'll say it again.

I HATE SPIDERS!

So the other night I was in Beaumont as I am every other weekend trying desperately to get some sleep in the overly cold room that is Chad's. I finally doze off to dream of working, with Ellen Degeneres no less, at some kind of school carnival. Well we're working away and I get sent to the back room to get something that we've run out of. This dream has gotten pretty fuzzy but this next part I am having no trouble remembering.

I go to the back to get whatever it is and I'm hunting frantically. The next thing I know I discover a GIGANTIC spider in the back room. And I mean gigantic. This thing is at least 6 ft from leg to leg and I can't handle little ones let alone spiders that are big enough to eat me whole.

I'm scrambling over pallets and crates trying to get away from the Monster Spider only to hear this overly sweet voice coming from the other side of the room. And who is it? It's Ellen. She's calling to her pet spider. Yes. I said pet. Why did she bring this thing to a kids carnival? I don't know. But she's over there kind of bending down and clapping her hands the way you would for a dog and calling this "things" name. I don't remember the name but we'll say she called it Fluffy.

So I'm cowering in a corner hoping that this stupid spider is going to finally answer his owners calls when I FELT this thing touch my back. When I say felt. I felt it. Not just in the dream but when I was awake. I leaped out of my dream state and out of the bed in one motion, which is really easy when you're sleeping on an air mattress. I was looking frantically. Maybe Grayson was trying to wake me up. Nope. He's silent. Not waking up at all. Chad is at work. This spider really touched me!

I'm shivering right now thinking about it. I can still feel it touching me in the middle of the back now! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

So this is for everyone once again. I know it was my dream but I'm taking this as my chance to remind people. Especially you people with spiders name Charlotte. I hate spiders and if they touch me I will kill it. I don't care! I hate them. They scare the crap out of me.

Ok. Done.

The PayPerPost Revolution Accelerates, Sponsored
Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B

Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors

ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.

“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”

Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.

“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”

To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

It's One of Those Days!

So I get up this morning and Grayson is all sunny! He has his breakfast with minimum fussing that he got Corn Pops and is dressed and ready to play outside. He gets out there only to be pushed into the wading pool! Argh! He's on his 2nd pair of play clothes and it's only 10 in the morning. So we get him changed and I tell him he needs to stay inside for a while because he wasn't supposed to be at the pool to begin with. And so begins the whining! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR YOU WHINE! Period. I don't care if you're hungry, you just had breakfast. I don't care if you're thirsty, there's juice on the table. I don't care if you want to go outside. You didn't mind and stay away from the pool when I told you to so you need to keep your butt inside for a little bit. Learn your lesson.

So that's the first couple hours of my day. Keep your fingers crossed that the next few will be better!

Why is it....

.....that just when you think that someone that has underestimated and underappreciated you for years, is finally starting to do the exact opposite they do something to totally make you doubt your judgement?

A friend of mine recently blogged about relationships and how some just never really go away. How there's always that one person that you'll always forgire no matter what because there's a bond holding you together.

Well in my case she was right. For me it's a life and no matter how hard I try to make this person understand that the way you treat people does matter, they just don't get it. They have the mentality that you look out for #1 and that's it. You don't consider who helped you to where you are or that you are steadily leaning on them emotionally. You don't consider that you put more worth in the relationships that have barely been around and usually only when there's something in it for them.

Take for instance the fact that I am just a giving person. I help people and do what I can for my friends and family when I can. Sometimes that's a lot while at other times it's very little. But in this persons case I've done a lot over and over again and I've been repeatedly stepped on. I'm not asking that I be praised or that I get anything in return. I'm simply asking that I be treated with a little more respect then that of the people that lie about you, walk all over you and use you.

Am I naive to expect that someone would just simply appreciate everything that's been done for them by showing some good old fashioned respect? What are you teaching your children when they see someone helping you and you can't even respect the person that's helping you? It's something that I will never understand.

I think that my main problem with all of this is that it will continue. Because this is the one person that no matter what I will always forgive them. However, if you know me you know I will never forget. And I won't let you forget either. I don't live in the past but I do remember it. It hurts and it's the only thing I have to go on. You haven't proved yourself to be anything other then what you were in your past so why not?

Now don't get me wrong. This person did a lot of damage to me and since grew and changed into a much better person. But at the same time there's still a lot of growth that's needed to acheive the type of person that I know they can be. The kind of person that they were raised to be. Leave behind the insecurities that are binding you to the person that you are. The old notions that you have to be something that you aren't. Look to the future at what is waiting for you to stand up and show them how to be a good and decent human. Look at the now and realize the mistakes that you are making that could cause irrepairalble damage.

Can you live with the consequences of your actions? Can you live with what the final result will be should you keep pushing and disregarding? I hope you can. I hope that you can look yourself in the mirror everyday and be happy with the way you've lived this part of your life. But know this. You will be the one to answer for everything, because I will only relay the truth.

Questions are going to arise and feelings are going to be hurt. You're going to have to answer very hard questions in spite of the fact that this is the best you've done so far. Regardless of all the good you've done there are still lies being told. Not only to myself and the one you really need to live your life for but to other people. You're making people believe that you're something that you're not. You're still chasing that lifestyle that you've so long claimed to despise.

You don't see it that way though. You're just delusional enough to think that you're just living. That you're not hurting anyone because after all. No one really knows right? Well trust me. People know. And when it comes back on you no pity will be spared in your general direction. Yes I will eventually always forgive you for everything you've done to me. But I will not feel sorry for you for the mess that you've again put yourself in.W

NIght Vision isn't just for the Armed Forces

I know. Why do we, civilians, need night vision? Well my sister can tell you that.

She is quite the ambulance chaser. No not an attorney but she always has to know what's going on at any wreck or at the very site of an emergency vehicle. Night vision binoculars and Binoculars from Optics Planet would make her rubber necking much less of a traffic problem.

In addition to my sisters ambulance chasing needs you can also find Cameras,
thermal imaging , Heat Seekers, Red Dot Scopes and more from the top brands. Some of the brands sold include ATN, Yukon, Bushnell, Trijicon, Weaver, Aimshot, Insight Technology, ITT & tons more.

So head on over to make sure you have everything you need whether it be for ambulance chasing, hunting or just star gazing.

Ahhhhhhhhh!

I don't know what my Bug ate or drank or whatever but he's in a mood today. He's not listening to one thing I say. He's dragging the cat around. So I stop him and sit him on the couch.

"You sit there until I tell you you can get up!"

"I have to tee tee."

"Ok fine. Go tee tee!"

He gets up and runs in there to go tee tee and walks back in with the cat.

"NO! I told you to go potty. Not to get the cat. You get your hiney on the couch now before I spank it."

He gets on the couch and then it really begins.

"I'm hungry."

"You just ate lunch."

"I have to go potty."

"No you don't you're just bored."

"I'm thirsty."

"So just drink the drink that you have in front of you."

"HUMPH!"

At this point he crosses his arms and points his stormy look at the TV.

That wasn't the end of it. I went on to stop him from jumping on the furniture, running through the house, dragging the cat around yet again and getting the soaked puppet out of the dirty clothes. Not sure why it's soaked. Think it got left outside. But there you go. Grayson's having a BAD BAD BAD day and I'm the one paying for it.

And gypsies out there want him? I keep threatening that I'm going to give him away.

Who would you pick?

Whogets.com is the new sweepstakes site out there. You can win prizes or money but here's the twist.

There's 2 rounds to every contest. The semi finals where anyone can enter and 7 finalists are chosen. The 7 finalists are then given the opportunity to make their case in 100 words or less. They tell why they want to win, why they need to win or just why they want that particular thing. And then everyone else gets to vote. The finals process takes about 2 weeks and then the winner will be notified.

This site is completely free with no annoying emails and nothing to buy ever. Go check it out. I'm checking out the contest for this Safety Helmet for my son. He's a huge klutz.

Help!

I swear I need to take out stock in Miderma. You know? That cream that you can get to help lessen the appearance of scars? Well my Bug needs a vat of it. He's always hurting himself. I blogged about him falling and splitting his knee open and me having to butterfly it and try and keep him still for a week. Well we just got over that and yesterday he's playing with his cousins and they somehow got an ottoman onto the top bunk of their bunk beds. Don't ask me how because I don't know. Well I went in there to get the 2 year old off the top bunk and Grayson falls and his head then slides down the ottoman. He's screaming because there's a big chunk out of his head right on the hair line and I'm still trying to get Joshua down. I finally get him down and go and take a look. I put a bag of frozen peppers on it then neosporin it and put a Curious George bandaid on it. All better.

Well this afternoon I'm working when he comes in screaming. He'd been in some kind of accident and he's got bumps and scratches all over both arms and on his knee. The very knee that we just got healed up. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. So he crys his way through the cleaning of the knee, he hates peroxide, so we get it mostly clean with that then stick him in the tub. That makes it better. It's not that bad a scrape. No where near as bad as a few weeks ago. But come on? Can't we go without blood and crying for a couple months at least?

Well that's my life. Anyone have extra first aid supplies floating around? Send em on.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I love the feeling of sitting on the couch with something yummy to eat after having just gotten out of the shower. I LOVE IT. And today it felt even better. I went to the Sand Castle contest this past Saturday at East Beach in Galveston. And of course. I look like a lobster. Well parts of me do. So I've been putting on every lotion and aloe thing that I can find to sooth it and help with the overall dryness. Well that leads to just feeling sticky and nasty. So I got a shower today, luke warm of course, then put the sunburn relief gel on there. I then sat on the couch with some frito pie and a big glass of crystal light. Talk about relaxing. And yummy. For some reason I'm just not a big fan of the frito pie bit today it was hitting the spot.

Am I strange? Am I the only one that enjoys this?

Public Routes.com

The Boston travel planner has a resource available to them that's rarely thought of when planning. Hotel, Airfare and rental car. Those are the staples. But people rarely, or at least I don't, plan routes to all the different places that I'm going to be going to. Public Routes offers directions from the front door of the travelers hotel to wherever it is they're needing to go.

And for the eco friendly traveler they take public transportation into consideration with all their routes. Public Routes is also a complete travel site offering flights, hotels and more, in addition to traffic alerts.

So the next time your traveling utilize Public Routes.com.

I'm at a loss.

How is it that people find so many things to blog about? I have my few lucid moments where I have something that actually means something to put in here but most of the time I'm just rambling about whatever comes to mind. Constantly trying to get into a flow that's both interesting and desirable to the average reader. I would love to be one of those that just sits down and starts typing and the thoughts flow like water never ending. To be one of those that's forced to wrap up at the end because it's gone on much too long. And for it to be easy to do. Not something that's forced or otherwise. Oh well. I'll continue my Random Ramblings of this Mommy Bug and hopefully you'll continue to read.
