New Years Resolutions!

Does anyone make these? I usually try to. Not necessarily to change anything about my life, but to try to do more of what I know I already am.

I constantly look around at my life and notice how much I'm sacrificing of myself for other people, my job, what have you. I always say throughout the year that I'm going to take better care of myself. Take better care of my physical self, meaning eating better, working out, and getting enough sleep. Taking care of my emotional self by taking the time for myself where I can really evaluate where I am and where I want to be. Taking care of myself so that I can take care of my son in a manner that will leave him happy and grateful to have had the childhood that I gave him.

So that's my resolution this year. I'm going to take better care of myself. Whether that means physically, emotionally or any other ally that's what it's going to be. I'm not going to lose myself in the day to day life. I'm going to take that hour to take a bath and read my book. I'm going to take that 15 minutes to get my eye brows done because it makes me feel better about myself. I'm going to take the time to work out and make myself healthier so that I can be around longer for my son and everyone in my life. The only person I'm trying to please in this is myself. If I'm not happy then I can't very well make anyone elses life better.

What are you resolving?

The best time of the year!

This is the last one I could get before the giggles took over! He then had Brownies and went to bed!

This one has Sign Language!

This was my favorite one that they did! He doesn't do the whole thing for me at home but I love it all the same.

My Bug singing Christmas Songs!

Just a video of my Bug singing Rudolph! He sang this and a few other cute songs in a little presentation his school put on at the local bank. I'll put 2 others up too!

Introducing Maddy!

Due to my lack of an internet connection I haven't been able to introduce my Dog Maddy. On the day of Grayson's birthday party I went to his Dad's house to get the presents and found this gorgeous American Bull Dog on the front porch. She'd recently had puppies and was just shivering. She was very thin and dirty and just so sweet. I brought her home and she's been with us since. She's mischevious and thinks she's a lap dog when it comes to Chad, but other then that she's gained some weight, her coat is looking a lot better and she's just full of energy! Some of you know I fell in love with this breed when watching Homeward Bound. I just love Chance. Well I finally have my dog!

Ok. So it was my first time to make Sweet Potatoes! Well they came out really yummy, so I'm told (I don't like them), only while putting them out on the table I asked Chad,"Hey? Don't you like yours with marshmallows?" He says yes. Well the only ones I had were red stars and green Christmas Trees. Very festive I know, but still funny looking! LOL

I think I might actually possibly be back!

I come to you today ashamed. I know how you yearn for daily glimpses into my life. How you salivate at the very thought of peering into my world and marveling at my greatness. I stand before you head bowed in shame, my proverbial tail tucked between my legs. I weep rivers when I imagine the pain I've caused you. I'm racked with guilt at the thought of depriving you of your most anticipated daily event. The remorse I feel can only be matched by the conviction with which I make the following promise.

I promise to no longer leave you alone and without the words you anticipate daily. To visit daily to enthrall you with the life you've come to crave as much as candy to a child. I will grace you daily with only what I can provide. You will no longer need to search aimlessly for other sources to quench your thirst. I am here. I will not leave you alone.

LOL....Ok sorry. Just felt like being overly dramatic for a little bit. But seriously. I'm back. I'll come and update daily. Make that subscription you have, and you better have one, worth it. I'll also get back to mobile blogging. That way you can see all the crazy things I find in this great city of Longview. LOL.

Until tomorrow! ;)

Does tomorrow mean Friday in your world?

Just wondering? I teased you on Monday with a brief venture into my world promising to satisfy your needs "tomorrow". Apparently slaving as a bartender aka "babysitter", Monday through Saturday as temporarily altered my sense of time.

There's nothing to report as nothing as happened. I've gone to work and slept pretty much. Are you intrigued? Do I make you long for a life of excitement such as mine?

OH! I did get a crock pot today. I've been longing for the one with the 3 different sized inserts and I have finally made it mine. I have chicken and dumplins cooking away as we speak. I will post pics for those of you who haven't been introduced. It's great. There's a 2 quart, 4 quart and a 6 quart. I LOVE IT!

I have to get ready for another night of helping people find the courage to say and do things they otherwise wouldn't. Until next time!

Just a Reminder.

I don't spell check. If it's going to drive you absolutely insane that there is the occassional typo, then let me apologize now. If it's going to continue to torment you then I reluctantly bid you farewell we you move on to a blog that will, hopefully, satisfy your appetite for perfect spelling and grammar.

:D

Back! I hope!

I know. I've been gone for some time leaving you hungrily anticipating my next post. Well you will hunger no longer. I have returned. You can now feed your insatiable appetite for my random droppings of minute intelligence.

LOL...I'm just kidding. If that paragraph wasn't just dripping with sarcasm I don't know if I've read one that is.

I was gone for sometime, between internet connections, I am however back. I have a new Toshiba Satellite Laptop with which to enthrall you, and a temporary internet connection.

Nothing much has changed. Grayson has gone on to the forever stimulating world of Kindergarten, Chad is now working for a Security company and I continue to toil awal as a bartender/waitress. Life is good, the bills are paid, and we are all healthy for the time being.

It's late so I will post more tomorrow.

Welcome Back Me!

Heart Attack Alert

yes today I had my first and certainly not my last heart attack. While finishing up my shift at the bar I receive a phone call from Chad frantic. "I can't find Grayson anywhere!" he says. I didn't immediately panic. I remember my sister and all her neighbors frantically searching for her 3 year old daughter, only to find her asleep under an end table in the living room while giving directions to the police officer on the phone. I make sure he's checked everywhere. Under stuffed animals, in closets, in the water pump house, the tree house, etc. Nothing. He's screaming and crying like a mad man. I get off the phone and call my boss requesting she have the night bartender come in early so I can come home and search for my son. i call Chad back and still nothing. He's standing on the front porch. My heart drops and I remember the pool. I ask if he's checked the pool. he says yes and he's not there. That doesn't make much of a dent in the panic that's growing. I remove my tips from the jar and start counting my drawer while I wait. I'm almost done counting when I get a call from Chad. He's found. He was at the fire station across the street, and he found this out when he called the police. Apparently the fire station was on the phone with the police at that time.

I find out while at work that Grayson had gone in the bedroom looking for Chad and didn't see him. So he just went outside looking for him. The cop told Chad that a woman has picked Grayson up in her car and taken him to the fire station. I'm very upset by this. Not only with Grayson, he is 5 and not as aware to the ways of the world as the adult that picked him up. Yes I'm upset with him for getting in the car with a stranger and intend on having a lengthy conversation with him about Stranger Danger as soon as I get home.

We're talking to Grayson and he kept saying that he didn't get in the car with him. This is weird because the police officer told him that one of the fire fighters had seen him get out of the womans car. So I'm trying to get Grayson to understand that while he's ok, not all people are going to be nice and he's not to get in the car with anyone he doesn't know. Under no circumstances. He's adamant though.

So we decide to go up there. We talk to the man that was with him. He said that what actually happened was he'd been outside and had seen grayson out there. He's been kind of walking back and forth in front of the for sale sign in the yard and didn't think much of it. Just assumed that he was playing in his yard. He then saw a woman pull up and talk to him and then pull off. He started to walk over there when he saw her turn the car around and head back toward him. he went on over and got him. He took him to the fire station and talked to him and set him up with cake, a glass of milk and Sponge Bob. Come to find out he told them that his Daddy was Chad, his Mommy was Leiann, that Daddy worked at Kroger and I worked at a bar.

Luckily everything turned out ok but it took Chad forever to settle down. Both are happily snoring away in my bed. LOL

We're now going to eat chocolate chip cookies and drink Promise Land Chocolate Milk.

My panic took forever to go away but it's gone now. Heart Attacks suck!

My son the disbeliever!

My son never believes anything I say! To prove this I went to the local liqour store today. I saw this ice cream cake on 30 Minute Meals and wanted to make it. Well Chad has used all the Kahlua and neglected to let me know this so I went to get more. I walk in, after setting the alarm on my truck, and explain to Grayson as we walk down an aisle lined on both sides with MANY bottles of wine, that said bottles are all glass and therefore breakable. Apparently he doesn't believe me and decides to test this theory. He reaches out with the hand that I am not holding and thumps one of the bottles. It slightly wobbles after making a satisfactory glass like sound to settle safely without crashing to the floor. I'm scared he's not satisfied that they are indeed glass bottles so I take both hands and hold them over his head to walk down the aisle with the Kahlua on it. Now keep in mind I'm holding my keys in my hand and I have one of those remotes with the nifty red panic buttons on it. Next thing I know everyone is rushing to the front of the store to see why there's an alarm going on right in front of the entrance to the store. Argh! I hit the panic button. I go out and turn it off but not before everyone knows it was me! LOL Yes Grayson the bottles are breakable and I'm not lieing!

Bronchitis Ick!

Yes you read right! I've been blessed with Bronchitis. Blech. I'd been fighting it for a few weeks. I'd decided it was my allergies and was doing my best to do what I could to make it better. I was taking Benadryl everyday, had a humidifier for the room and short of digging a gigantic hole to put the house in and hooking a hose up to my truck to run the exhaust into I wasn't going to replicate the Houston air here. So after work Friday I decide I better go to the doc that all my efforts have been futile. I went to the ER and was thankfully in and out within an hour. They gave me Zithromax and a cough suppresant, which was in pill form and just weird, but I'm on the mend. Chad had to deal with the bedroom having a humidifier and a vaporizer going at the same time but he was a good sport about it and I'm being babied! LOL

I'll right more later. I need to take my medicine as there's about to be a lung included with this post!

The Grayson Bug!

Grayson's most recent school pic! I LOVE it!

Randomness

Why is it that I'm such a psycho magnet? I'm working as a bartender/waitress at a small bar and last night I had the weirdest guy. I actually had customers telling me how worried they were. Luckily the guy had been left there without a ride home and one of my customers, non psycho, took him home so I wouldn't have to worry. But this isn't the first time that something like this has happened. I had something similar happen years ago when I first started working as a bartender. The guy followed me home and started banging on the door at 4 in the morning. I had a good friend follow me home and I lived with my Father, Sister and Brother in Law so I wasn't alone, but what's the deal? I know that there are imbalanced people out there that go to these types of extremes but why do I seem to attract them?

On a more positive note I am SO proud of my Bug! I'm not sure if I stated in previous blogs but his doctor had put him on ADHD medications this past fall. The meds really helped and I saw a vast improvement in all areas. Well Spring Break rolled around and I wanted to see how he would do without them. There have been a lot of changes in his life recently and I wanted to see if those changes could possibly equal a non medication dependent Bug. While the first few days were a little crazy the real test was that first week back at school. He came home with his weekly conduct progress report with all smilies! NO moving his clothes pin off the green! I am so excited! I really believe that the environment he was in and not having his Daddy around was really contributing to his behavioral problems. Of course I'm talking to his Doc and really watching him. I'm keeping his teacher informed as well. But so far everything is great! He's eating A LOT better, and while he does get on my nerves on occasion, what kid doesn't get on their parents nerves?

Let's see. School is good, Work is Good and I'm adjusting to living in a new town. I'm meeting a lot of new people and making new friends. Grayson is enjoying school and getting to know his family on his Dad's side! He loves all the time he gets to spend with his Me Maw! I have to say that I love the cooler weather! It's so nice and not as hot as I'm used to it being this time of year.

I loved this!

OK. So the whole time I was watching this I was SURE that Simon was going to hate it! But I loved this version of this song. Yes Rene I still like the original better but I jut really think that this showcased his talents all around!

NOT IMPRESSED!

OK. So I moved to the wonderful city of Longview and no it's not Longview that I'm not impressed with. I, at long last, finally have Internet access from my home. I initially placed my order on the 21st of Feb. 2 techs then came to the house the following Wednesday. Apparently our house, the guest house, is too far from the tap that's run to the main house. NO problem. They said that they would be getting someone out to take care of running a tap for this house from a closer transformer. Come Thursday of the next week I hadn't had any word as to what was going to happen so I called for an update. They stated that the tap would be installed the following Monday and my Internet that next day. Well Tuesday rolls around and I get a phone call from the dispatch stating that a tech would soon be in route. This was at around 10 am. I head down to put Grayson on the bus at 10:30. I go to check the mail from the day before and when walking up the walk in front of the main house I find something hanging from the door stating that they were sorry they missed me to call and reschedule. The time marked? 10:15 am! OK. First of all I had specifically stated that the tech needed to call because I needed to remind them that service was being installed at the guest house and not the main house. Trying to be proactive so as to avoid exactly this. So once Grayson is safely on his way to school I call customer service. They state that someone will be coming back out. I had an interview at 1:45 that afternoon. I advised them of this. I leave at 1:30 and return at 2:17. I find yet another note hanging from my door, on the guest house this time, stating that they had missed me yet again to call and reschedule, this time with a time of 2:13. Argh! I'm getting really ticked. I call and they state that they're going to have the tech come back. So I settle in to watch some crappy afternoon television. Now I have another interview at 6 pm so I leave around 5:30 to meet Chad. Prior to that I call customer service yet again to find out where the tech is. I then find out that the tech is not coming. And I haven't been told anything! ARGH! I'm ticked. Beyond ticked. I ask for a Supervisor and boy was that a mistake. The rep that I got was DUMB DUMB DUMB! I find out that the work that was supposed to have been done the day before has not been done, and they have to put a new address in their system so that we can have service. Hello? Have I not been telling every rep that I talk to that IT'S A GUEST HOUSE FOR THE PAST 2 WEEKS AND YOU'RE JUST NOW FIGURING THIS OUT? I ask when I can expect to see someone out here to take care of things. He say she doesn't know but that he will find out and let me know. I tell the rep in the nicest tone I can that I will hold while he finds out. He states that that's not possible that he'll call me back. I then relay my days experience yet again emphasizing my lack of faith in their company and receiving that phone call as I haven't received one as promised all day. I then inform him that I'm not ignorant and know it's possible to put me on hold and call to get the information I need. I again advise that I will hold. I'm asked if the number on file is a good number, they confirm the number and try to disconnect. I repeat my self as politely as any human being in my situation. The rep then repeats the phone number business. Apparently this person has completed learning English since coming from wherever it is they come from so I yell! I am not hanging up and you are not terminating this phone call until I have the information that I want. I will hold on while you call dispatch. I know this is possible so make it happen. Apparently he got it this time. So I hold and am told that they Will be out to that next day to see what needs to be done. I state that they need to note for the tech to speak with me. They said that they couldn't guarantee what the tech would do. Well yelling worked before. I yell that he is to note my account that the tech is to speak with the customer prior to leaving. Well he got it and I hung up. The next day a SUPER NICE tech comes out and installs the tap. My service is installed the following Monday and here I am! It's insanely slow, they're getting a call about that, and I'm trying to figure out why I have to have a Digital box to get the same channels we get in the living room without a box. AND NOTHING MORE. But that's another blog!

That's all for now!

Changes Galore!

This year has been about changes so far. I'll try to get through them ass quickly as possible so as to keep your brain from oozing out of your ears.

My son's father and I have decided to give it another go, and so far things are great. Really just settling in and getting used to all the quirky things I'd learned to ignore but must learn again.

We've moved from the Houston area to Longview which means me changing jobs, Chad transferring, and Grayson changing schools. Grayson is going into his 3rd week at his new school and he's loving it. Chad is working the same job and hating it, but taking the steps to get a better job, as well as his GED and college. I'm really proud of him. I'm still doing the school thing and looking for a job.

I had a promising interview on Thursday. The interviewer told me that he had one more interview that day and while he wanted to hire me he had to at least extend the courtesy. Really made it sound like I had it. Said that he would be letting everyone know something by the end of the day. I spoke with the recruiter I'm working with and she said that they still haven't heard anything so we shall see. I'm not stopping the search by any means.

Other then that everything else is the same. Just happy and loving life. I've got a ton of pics to get uploaded and as I have them ready I'll do just that! For all of my Houston peeps out there I miss and love you! I promise once things level out here I'll be back. Just try and keep me away. To my new and few peeps here in Longview, hello and welcome to the insanity that can be my life!

:D

I'm really back this time! I swear!

A ton has happened since the last time I promised I was back. Well I really am. Way too much to get into but between mobile blogging from my cell phone, and getting back into the paid for blogging thing you should be thoroughly annoyed with me. I'll be posting random updates as well so sit back and enjoy!

Could the Timing be any Better?

Just the other day I was at Wal Mart with my little one and his Dad. I'm waiting for the two of them to return from the restroom, as I often am, and wandered into the Vision Center. I'm standing there looking around and it occurs to me that I haven't had my eyes checked since my NEED for contacts in 1999. Which I never wear. I mention this to the Optometrist and look over at a sign that's really not too far away for my Nearsighted self. Incredibly blurry.

OK. I give. I need glasses. Not on an everyday all day thing, but for when I'm on this computer, and driving, and for the occasional trip to the movies.

So I'm contemplating making the appointment when this opportunity should arise. What a great deal. $ 8 Complete Prescription Eyeglasses+ Case is an amazing deal!

There are tons of stylish options to choose from with all the features you could want. Have your lenses tinted, or add an anti reflection coating.

The combinations are endless. And there's more then just the $8 options. All you need is a prescription from your doctor and you're ready to go.

All orders are shipped UPS with tracking # and delivery confirmation, in a hard case with a lens cleaning cloth.
