Spring Resolution

I've gained back about 25 of the 50 lbs I'd lost. I'M SO NOT OK WITH THIS! Yes part of this is due to an antibiotic/steroid mixture that I was put on last year. But going back to my not so healthy eating habits and straying from the changes I'd made helped. I also had stopped working out.

So basically, I'm copying a radio commercial I keep hearing over and over again. I'm making a Spring Resolution! LOL. I've started working out again. I'm starting slow by working my arms with 4 lb hand weights, my abs with my stability ball, and my legs with basic exercises and my Leg Magic machine. I ordered the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds Express dvd today and I'm adding that to my regimen as soon as it gets here. I'll be doing that complete with hand weights and ankle weights as I did before.

As far as my eating habits I'm making small changes to get back on track. I'm on a crazy schedule with the job that I have. I most often am not in bed until after 4 in the morning. I then get up at 7 to take Grayson to school, then am back in bed before 8. I get up again at 2 to pick him up from school and 2-3 days out of the week I am at work by 4 after that. If I'm not working I am up until after 4 again. Busy either cleaning, doing laundry, reading, playing with Grayson, etc. Like I stated above I am making better use of my time by exercising.

This schedule makes it hard to eat right all the time and the drive thru is very inviting. I've stocked my fridge with chicken breasts, ground turkey and lots of yummy frozen vegetables. I've got a fully stocked spice cabinet, and lots of wheat pasta and brown rice. Wheat bread if my only option so that's helping. One problem for me is getting my metabolism going once I'm up in the morning because I'm not really a breakfast eater. I never have been. I have a friend that sells Metabolife and I have some of the cookies and cream shakes so I'm working those in. I plan to go to GNC very soon to get some of the vita packs to help with cravings so that my body is getting what it needs.

Oh. And water water water! I'm going to make myself start drinking the water again. I had been on a schedule where I was eating well and drinking my water Monday through Friday, and having free weekends. This was working out very well for me coupled with my exercise routine. My weights and toning exercises 5 days a week and cardio at least 3-4. It was to the point that I would get a 20 oz coke and it would take me days to drink it. I want to get there again.

Obviously I know what works for me. I just need to make myself accountable. I need to make myself do it. At least for the next couple weeks so I can see some results, which will make me keep going. I can do this. I've done it before. Not everything has been undone. Hopefully I will have some before pics to post soon. Maybe that will make me a little more accountable. We'll see!

Well, 3 days of working out down and 2 to go this week. Let's see if I keep it up! No scratch that! I will keep it up! Check back with me!

The Burn!

So I posted that I'd fallen of the wagon. Well I'm still mozying along. I started this last Saturday with a dvd of cardio and resistance band toning. After a day of letting my muscles rest I was going to start with the 2 mile walk away the pounds tape with ankle weights and hand weights, but my thighs were still just a little too sore. So I waited until last night. I started exercising only to find that I was due to head out the door for my taxi runs for the night in 15 minutes. So I tackled that 2 mile walk tonight. I made it all the way through with ankle weights leaving the hand weights until it's a little easier. I'll give my lower half a rest tomorrow and work on my top half with some hand weights and stability ball. Wish me luck that I see at least a small result soon. My 30th birthday is in less then a week. Shhhhhhhhh.

King Ranch Chicken

Just wanted to post a recipe that's super easy, and super good. I love it. I always have to double or triple the recipe when making this cuz Chad LOVES it sooooo much he'll eat an entire small casserole dish of it on his own.

The basic recipe is as follows:

1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts boiled
1 can Rotel tomatos
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 c shredded cheddar cheese 1/2'd(or mexican blend cheese)
Crumbled Tortilla Chips

Preheat oven to 350. Boil the chicken breasts and set aside to cool. Mix together Cream of Mushroom Soup, Cream of Chicken Soup, Rotel, 1/2 c of cheese and the crumbled tortilla chips. Cut chicken into bite size pieces and add to mixture. Mix completely and put in casserole dish. Bake until bubbly then remove and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Place back in the oven until the cheese is melted and starts to brown.

You can serve it with tortilla chips on the side to dip! Enjoy!

I fell off the wagon.

I blogged at one point, not sure if it was this one or not, about being addicted to the burn of working out. I would do weights everynight before bed, as well as general toning exercises. Then during the day I was constantly on my stability ball and doing the walk away the pounds tape with ankle weights and hand weights. Well I stopped working out and it took a while but I'm seeing the results of not keeping up at least a part time exercise routine. Well I fell off the wagon. I found a dvd at Academy that's from The Zone. It combines cardio and toning through resistance bands. It's only a 10 minute work out and very effective. So I'm loving the burn again. Well for now I am. In the morning it may be a different story. But I'm going to alternate this with the Walk Away the Pounds tape. Going back to using the hand weights and stability ball and wearing my ankle weights throughout the day. I can't wait to start seeing results! I'll post pics! Well maybe! We shall see. LOL
