Have you been through this?
It's a seemingly normal day. You're home from work cooking dinner and your son is doing his homework somewhere. He come in griping that he just doesn't get the math his teacher has assigned him. He might even say that the teacher doesn't even really teach.
So you sit down in all your wisdom only to stare at some algebraic equation that you have no clue how to solve. So you start working through it. There figured it out. You start trying to help him and he get upset. You're just not teaching it right either. He's frustrated because he's really trying but it's just not clicking in his head.
This is where a Math Tutor from Score Educational Centers could really ease that pain. Their Advantage Program takes a customized, hands-on approach to problem solving, designed to make learning fun while allowing your child to move at his own pace. They'll work with your child to build on the 16 fundamental math skills and combine math knowledge and concepts with reasoning and critical thinking skills.
So keep the natural color of your hair and get them the help they need with their math at the same time.
Ahhhhhhhhhh! Vacation Bible School!
I love whoever thought this up. Not only is Grayson learning about Jesus and getting to spend much needed time with other kids but I get an entire free morning to get things done that I normally can't do without him following me around.
And he loves it. His first day I picked him up and he wanted to stay. Then he came home and took a nap. When he woke up he informed me that it was time to go to Bible School. I let him know that after he went to sleep it would be time to go again. Then after dinner he again informed me that it was time for Bible School. Once again. After you go to sleep. So what does he say after his bath? It's time to go to Bible School!
Well he finally got to go this morning and he's loving it. He's even going to go to another one the week after next! I'm ecstatic!

Bath Time!
Just the cousins enjoying bath time together! Had to put the camera away pretty quick. They started getting hyper and splashing all over!

My little Southpaw!
will be starting pre k soon and me being like every other overly obsessive mother out there I want him to be ahead of the game. He's a fast learner but I want him to have a leg up so to speak.
So I'm considering an Innovative Tutor. They have programs for kids ranging from Pre K on up to high school.
My main concern is he's left handed and there's no one around that's left handed. I've tried but I think that a personable tutor would be just the answer to helping him get it down.
Check out the Score website if your child is having trouble in school or if you are just looking for a good Summer program for them. They offer personal academic coaching, positive reinforcement and a customized curriculum for your child.
It could be the answer to your academic child's academic prayers.

Thankful Thursdays!
1. I am thankful for Crystal Light. Without it I would never get my water in.
2. I am thankful for bathtubs. My son would stay in there for hours if I'd let him. Ahhhhhh quiet time.
3. I am thankful for my persistence. My child support has finally started coming in again.
4. I am thankful for my Bug. Regardless of how much I scream I don't know what I'd do without him!
5. I am thankful for dirt. For the past 2 days my Bug has been busily playing in a giant hole and my days have been that much quieter.
6. I am thankful for my family. They're tolerant and loving no matter what I do and I couldn't ask for more in that department.
7. I am thankful for my friends. Eh. They put up with me. That's enough.
8. I am thankful, on occasion, for alcohol. Sometimes it just relaxes me.
9. I am thankful for down comforters. There's nothing better to snuggle down into then a down comforter.
10. I am thankful for Alton Brown! I love him so much and he loves me way more then my sister Rene!

Burn Notice
USA Network's Burn Notice is the newest cable network series. And they're getting into the Spy business.
BURN NOTICE (bûrn nō'tĭs) n.
1. An official statement by one intelligence agency to other agencies, domestic or foreign, that an individual or group is unreliable.
And that's just what's happened on the newest series. The main character, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan), while on assignment has received a burn notice. And now he's got to find out why. He's got to fly totally beneath the spy network radar to clear his name. So that got me thinking. What would I do? What would I be doing to ensure that no one knew who I was while going about my investigation?
I would be a master of disguise. I would refer to the skills of the other spy's that I've observed and be able to change my appearance with the simplest of materials. I imagine myself being discovered and stopping ducking into the nearest drug store to see what I can get. Wrapping paper would make a great wrap around skirt. We know they sell different kinds of panty hose and tights so that would be easy. Find some funky hair pieces and putting them here and there. Some nice big sunglasses and a big bag and I'm done. Blend in with some group while getting out while they're searching for the person that I used to be.
OH I want to be a spy now. I would of course have all the best gadgets that you can get on the black market at my disposal! Whoo! I can't wait! I so know what I want to be when I grow up.
So check it out and live out your Spy fantasies through USA Networks Burn Notice.
I've said it before.......
and I'll say it again.
I HATE SPIDERS!
So the other night I was in Beaumont as I am every other weekend trying desperately to get some sleep in the overly cold room that is Chad's. I finally doze off to dream of working, with Ellen Degeneres no less, at some kind of school carnival. Well we're working away and I get sent to the back room to get something that we've run out of. This dream has gotten pretty fuzzy but this next part I am having no trouble remembering.
I go to the back to get whatever it is and I'm hunting frantically. The next thing I know I discover a GIGANTIC spider in the back room. And I mean gigantic. This thing is at least 6 ft from leg to leg and I can't handle little ones let alone spiders that are big enough to eat me whole.
I'm scrambling over pallets and crates trying to get away from the Monster Spider only to hear this overly sweet voice coming from the other side of the room. And who is it? It's Ellen. She's calling to her pet spider. Yes. I said pet. Why did she bring this thing to a kids carnival? I don't know. But she's over there kind of bending down and clapping her hands the way you would for a dog and calling this "things" name. I don't remember the name but we'll say she called it Fluffy.
So I'm cowering in a corner hoping that this stupid spider is going to finally answer his owners calls when I FELT this thing touch my back. When I say felt. I felt it. Not just in the dream but when I was awake. I leaped out of my dream state and out of the bed in one motion, which is really easy when you're sleeping on an air mattress. I was looking frantically. Maybe Grayson was trying to wake me up. Nope. He's silent. Not waking up at all. Chad is at work. This spider really touched me!
I'm shivering right now thinking about it. I can still feel it touching me in the middle of the back now! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
So this is for everyone once again. I know it was my dream but I'm taking this as my chance to remind people. Especially you people with spiders name Charlotte. I hate spiders and if they touch me I will kill it. I don't care! I hate them. They scare the crap out of me.
Ok. Done.

Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B
Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors
ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.
“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”
Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.
“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”
To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.
It's One of Those Days!
So I get up this morning and Grayson is all sunny! He has his breakfast with minimum fussing that he got Corn Pops and is dressed and ready to play outside. He gets out there only to be pushed into the wading pool! Argh! He's on his 2nd pair of play clothes and it's only 10 in the morning. So we get him changed and I tell him he needs to stay inside for a while because he wasn't supposed to be at the pool to begin with. And so begins the whining! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR YOU WHINE! Period. I don't care if you're hungry, you just had breakfast. I don't care if you're thirsty, there's juice on the table. I don't care if you want to go outside. You didn't mind and stay away from the pool when I told you to so you need to keep your butt inside for a little bit. Learn your lesson.
So that's the first couple hours of my day. Keep your fingers crossed that the next few will be better!

Why is it....
.....that just when you think that someone that has underestimated and underappreciated you for years, is finally starting to do the exact opposite they do something to totally make you doubt your judgement?
A friend of mine recently blogged about relationships and how some just never really go away. How there's always that one person that you'll always forgire no matter what because there's a bond holding you together.
Well in my case she was right. For me it's a life and no matter how hard I try to make this person understand that the way you treat people does matter, they just don't get it. They have the mentality that you look out for #1 and that's it. You don't consider who helped you to where you are or that you are steadily leaning on them emotionally. You don't consider that you put more worth in the relationships that have barely been around and usually only when there's something in it for them.
Take for instance the fact that I am just a giving person. I help people and do what I can for my friends and family when I can. Sometimes that's a lot while at other times it's very little. But in this persons case I've done a lot over and over again and I've been repeatedly stepped on. I'm not asking that I be praised or that I get anything in return. I'm simply asking that I be treated with a little more respect then that of the people that lie about you, walk all over you and use you.
Am I naive to expect that someone would just simply appreciate everything that's been done for them by showing some good old fashioned respect? What are you teaching your children when they see someone helping you and you can't even respect the person that's helping you? It's something that I will never understand.
I think that my main problem with all of this is that it will continue. Because this is the one person that no matter what I will always forgive them. However, if you know me you know I will never forget. And I won't let you forget either. I don't live in the past but I do remember it. It hurts and it's the only thing I have to go on. You haven't proved yourself to be anything other then what you were in your past so why not?
Now don't get me wrong. This person did a lot of damage to me and since grew and changed into a much better person. But at the same time there's still a lot of growth that's needed to acheive the type of person that I know they can be. The kind of person that they were raised to be. Leave behind the insecurities that are binding you to the person that you are. The old notions that you have to be something that you aren't. Look to the future at what is waiting for you to stand up and show them how to be a good and decent human. Look at the now and realize the mistakes that you are making that could cause irrepairalble damage.
Can you live with the consequences of your actions? Can you live with what the final result will be should you keep pushing and disregarding? I hope you can. I hope that you can look yourself in the mirror everyday and be happy with the way you've lived this part of your life. But know this. You will be the one to answer for everything, because I will only relay the truth.
Questions are going to arise and feelings are going to be hurt. You're going to have to answer very hard questions in spite of the fact that this is the best you've done so far. Regardless of all the good you've done there are still lies being told. Not only to myself and the one you really need to live your life for but to other people. You're making people believe that you're something that you're not. You're still chasing that lifestyle that you've so long claimed to despise.
You don't see it that way though. You're just delusional enough to think that you're just living. That you're not hurting anyone because after all. No one really knows right? Well trust me. People know. And when it comes back on you no pity will be spared in your general direction. Yes I will eventually always forgive you for everything you've done to me. But I will not feel sorry for you for the mess that you've again put yourself in.W

NIght Vision isn't just for the Armed Forces
I know. Why do we, civilians, need night vision? Well my sister can tell you that.
She is quite the ambulance chaser. No not an attorney but she always has to know what's going on at any wreck or at the very site of an emergency vehicle. Night vision binoculars and Binoculars from Optics Planet would make her rubber necking much less of a traffic problem.
In addition to my sisters ambulance chasing needs you can also find Cameras,
thermal imaging , Heat Seekers, Red Dot Scopes and more from the top brands. Some of the brands sold include ATN, Yukon, Bushnell, Trijicon, Weaver, Aimshot, Insight Technology, ITT & tons more.
So head on over to make sure you have everything you need whether it be for ambulance chasing, hunting or just star gazing.
Ahhhhhhhhh!
I don't know what my Bug ate or drank or whatever but he's in a mood today. He's not listening to one thing I say. He's dragging the cat around. So I stop him and sit him on the couch.
"You sit there until I tell you you can get up!"
"I have to tee tee."
"Ok fine. Go tee tee!"
He gets up and runs in there to go tee tee and walks back in with the cat.
"NO! I told you to go potty. Not to get the cat. You get your hiney on the couch now before I spank it."
He gets on the couch and then it really begins.
"I'm hungry."
"You just ate lunch."
"I have to go potty."
"No you don't you're just bored."
"I'm thirsty."
"So just drink the drink that you have in front of you."
"HUMPH!"
At this point he crosses his arms and points his stormy look at the TV.
That wasn't the end of it. I went on to stop him from jumping on the furniture, running through the house, dragging the cat around yet again and getting the soaked puppet out of the dirty clothes. Not sure why it's soaked. Think it got left outside. But there you go. Grayson's having a BAD BAD BAD day and I'm the one paying for it.
And gypsies out there want him? I keep threatening that I'm going to give him away.
Who would you pick?
Whogets.com is the new sweepstakes site out there. You can win prizes or money but here's the twist.
There's 2 rounds to every contest. The semi finals where anyone can enter and 7 finalists are chosen. The 7 finalists are then given the opportunity to make their case in 100 words or less. They tell why they want to win, why they need to win or just why they want that particular thing. And then everyone else gets to vote. The finals process takes about 2 weeks and then the winner will be notified.
This site is completely free with no annoying emails and nothing to buy ever. Go check it out. I'm checking out the contest for this Safety Helmet for my son. He's a huge klutz.

Help!
I swear I need to take out stock in Miderma. You know? That cream that you can get to help lessen the appearance of scars? Well my Bug needs a vat of it. He's always hurting himself. I blogged about him falling and splitting his knee open and me having to butterfly it and try and keep him still for a week. Well we just got over that and yesterday he's playing with his cousins and they somehow got an ottoman onto the top bunk of their bunk beds. Don't ask me how because I don't know. Well I went in there to get the 2 year old off the top bunk and Grayson falls and his head then slides down the ottoman. He's screaming because there's a big chunk out of his head right on the hair line and I'm still trying to get Joshua down. I finally get him down and go and take a look. I put a bag of frozen peppers on it then neosporin it and put a Curious George bandaid on it. All better.
Well this afternoon I'm working when he comes in screaming. He'd been in some kind of accident and he's got bumps and scratches all over both arms and on his knee. The very knee that we just got healed up. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. So he crys his way through the cleaning of the knee, he hates peroxide, so we get it mostly clean with that then stick him in the tub. That makes it better. It's not that bad a scrape. No where near as bad as a few weeks ago. But come on? Can't we go without blood and crying for a couple months at least?
Well that's my life. Anyone have extra first aid supplies floating around? Send em on.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
I love the feeling of sitting on the couch with something yummy to eat after having just gotten out of the shower. I LOVE IT. And today it felt even better. I went to the Sand Castle contest this past Saturday at East Beach in Galveston. And of course. I look like a lobster. Well parts of me do. So I've been putting on every lotion and aloe thing that I can find to sooth it and help with the overall dryness. Well that leads to just feeling sticky and nasty. So I got a shower today, luke warm of course, then put the sunburn relief gel on there. I then sat on the couch with some frito pie and a big glass of crystal light. Talk about relaxing. And yummy. For some reason I'm just not a big fan of the frito pie bit today it was hitting the spot.
Am I strange? Am I the only one that enjoys this?
