Final Bug Update!

Well.....It's Friday. Grayson was throwing up on Wednesday and running a pretty high fever all day. I kept him on mild foods all day and the next day he still had a fever. I went ahead and kept him on mild foods all day yesterday, including no milk, and his fever was down to low grade. So last night he finally got to have some regular food and so far nothing has sprung forth! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything is back to normal. He's back to his cantankerous self so I'm taking that as a good sign.

I would like to say Happy Birthday to my friend Jessica. She's down here from Seattle because her family is making the sacrifice of her hubby being sent over seas to the Phillipines and I don't get to see her near enough. This summer just hasn't worked out and due to the Bug's sickness I am missing out on her totally rad 80's party! I love you Jess! Happy Birthday and I swear. I'll see you soon.

I'll call you Shitty!

Parental Advisory: Explicit Language!

This is along the same lines as the last blog.

Water, as he is now called, was running around naming things. His beloved Bee Bear is named Shadow. The vacuum cleaner, Mirror. A hanger was named hand. I don't recall everything that he named but those are just some examples. I think that I stopped listening at this point. My sister and I were talking and I here from across the room, "And I'll call you Shitty!" LOL I am flabbergasted. He's not supposed to be talking like this. I look over to see what it is that Water is referring to and there sits Sassy the cat. She's very quietly licking her paws having just been named Shitty when she really should have been quite offended! Apparently she's ok with this new name and we now have Water and Shitty! LOL

Yes he was appropriately reprimanded for saying this obscenity. Just thought that it was funny.

We all want to change our names at some point right?

Today was a normal day. We were all just hanging out and being silly. My sister then suggests that we go by our middle names. So all the kids start in with what they're going to be called for the day. There's Wesley, Kyle, Elaine, Shelby, Caroline, McKenna, Leslie and Christopher. Grayson being the last name listed then speaks up, "I want to be called Water."

So there it is. My son has picked his new name and he's to be called Water from how on. LOL What do you think? When you were a kid what was it that you wanted to change your name to? I was Shelby! LOL Leave me a comment and let me know.

Bug Update!

For those of you that were able to understand my previous blog this is an update.

Grayson stopped throwing up at about 6:15 this morning. I then set him to drinking Crystal Light to see how he held that down. Well almost 11 hours later nothing had come back up and he was hungry. So onto the B.R.A.T. diet he went.

He started with a banana, some saltines and a Sprite 0. That all stayed down. We then moved onto apple sauce on toast. That stayed down too. It's now 10:01 at night and nothing has sprung forth from my Bug's mouth since the previously mentioned 6:15 am.

Just really glad he's feeling better. Who wants to take bets on when I'll get it! LOL

Argh!

Alright. I've put this out there before but there are people that still don't get it. If you're child is throwing up and has a fever they are sick. It is not something that they ate. They are contagious and they are sick. Do not keep feeding them things such as meatloaf. Do not sent them into 100 degree Texas weather to play outside. Pretty much keep them away from all other children until you know that they are ok. Oh. And make sure they are washing and sanitizing their hands and that you're lysoling the house!

My son is now sick and throwing up because of people that don't take these precautions. People that then go on to tell me that they only threw up once and it was probably something that their grandmother fed them only to be told later that that child had been running a fever at the same time! Argh!

So this is my warning to you. If your child has a virus IE throwing up every 15 minutes or throwing up with a fever! They are sick. If you fail to do the necessary things like only letting them have water/pedialyte and foods from the B.R.A.T. diet until it's been at least 6-12 hours since they've thrown up then keep your child away from mine. Give their stomach time to heel and do not make them eat normal often greasy foods. It's not the end of the world if they do not get the 5 food groups in for that day! My reason for telling you all this is this. If you fail to do these things or inform people of the necessary thing then you will be taking care of yet another child while they are sick. And cleaning up their sick messes!

There! Done!
